Emotional Development
There are a handful of TA models which I want to focus on in this module:
- The Permission Wheel
- The Feelings Loop
- The Cycle of Development
- Stroke Theory
In this clip I present the Permission Wheel and outline a task involving the interactive exercise below for you to get a sense of how it works. It will be useful if you can print a hard copy of your completed wheel for when we meet together.
Click a section to fill it in, click it again to clear it. You can view a bigger version here.
We will be looking at the Feeling Loop during one of the module sessions and it might be helpful if you have a hard copy of the model available for the session. Below is a clip of me in discussion with Liz Jackson, talking about the feeling loop.
We will also be reviewing stroke theory and an easy option to do this is via the TA101 on-line resource and you can access the specific material here (password: rosebud). The Cycle of Development model can be reviewed here.
There are a couple of articles in the shared drive: ‘What goes around, comes around’ and, for those interested in working with adolescents, ‘Whatever!’
